The proceeds from the cake sale during the open day went to two aid projects.
Entrepreneur Ms S. Wellhöfer-Meyer chose to make the donations to organisations in Ansbach which are committed to ensuring the well-being of children and young people.
1,150 euros were donated to "Kastanienhof", an aid organisation for children, youth, and families. As Albert Lohrer, the director of the organisation providing special living arrangements, explained at the event, the donations will be used for a one-week recreational trip in the Bavarian forest during the Christmas holidays, for teenagers who are unable to spend the holidays with their parents for various reasons.
The second donation of 1,150 euros was made to the charitable organisation Kinderschicksale Mittelfranken. Founded in 2002 and chaired by Cristine Wägemann, it uses its donations to provide support to disabled and sick children in Central Franconia in the form of therapies, such as therapeutic horseback riding, which are not paid for by health insurance companies and which are beyond the financial means of the families involved. The funds for the donation came from the proceeds of the cake sale at the first open day celebrating the completion of the extension building. Relatives of company management and employees baked their own cakes and confectionery for this event, selling them in aid of this charitable cause
to the 1,700+ visitors.
